Microsoft Lync 2013 Released to TechNet and MSDN

In case you missed the news, Microsoft released Lync 2013, Exchange 2013, SharePoint 2013, and Office 2013 to TechNet and MSDN Subscribers. Let the downloading begin!

Reminder – the Lync 2013 client is now part of the Office 2013 Suite and the Office Key Management Services is not ready at this time, but should be coming shortly I imagine.

Microsoft Lync 2013 - Ready for Takeoff!

Microsoft announced tonight that Lync 2013 has reached the Released to Manufacturing (RTM) milestone and it will be Generally Available for the first quarter of 2013.

Microsoft simultaneously announced that Office 2013, Exchange 2013, and SharePoint 2013 have also achieved RTM status and will GA in the same time-frame:

GA is planned for Q1 2013 Volume License customers with software assurance can start downloading mid-November 2012. TechNet and MSDN subscribers are expected to get access around mid-November 2012 also. The 2013 products will be available on the Volume Licensing price list on December 1. Lync 2010 Cumulative Updates for October 2012

A quick blog post to let people know that new updates (October 2012) for the Lync 2010 Client, Lync 2010 Server (including the Mobility Service), and the Lync 2010 Attendee were released today. This round of updates is also referred to as CU7 (Cumulative Update 7).
